Failed UAW Effort Raises Questions About Political Involvement

Politicians in the Buckeye State gave workers at Fuyao Glass and their employer their 2 cents leading up to the United Auto Workers election in Moraine, Ohio—whether or not they wanted it.

The role politicians played in this election and in other recent UAW campaigns reflects a growing interest in union organizing by some politicians. Some observers see that as a cause for concern.

It’s to the point where they are willing to cross some ethical lines to support the employer during representation elections, labor sources told Bloomberg Law. That’s likely to continue, they said.
