Former NFL linebacker Robert McCune pleaded guilty to multiple criminal counts stemming from a scheme to defraud a health-care program for retired players.
McCune entered his plea in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky Tuesday, one day before two other defendants, Clinton Portis and Tamarick Vanover, were set to go to trial.
McCune pleaded guilty to all 26 counts in the superseding indictment, including wire fraud, health care fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and health-care fraud, and aggravated identity theft.
