Federal prosecutors asked the Eastern District of Kentucky to sentence former NFL player Clinton Portis to prison for his role in a scheme to defraud a health-care program for retired players.
Portis should be sentenced to a term at the high end of the 10- to 16-month guidelines range because he failed to accept responsibility early on, the government told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
