ERISA Advisory Council Gets New Members, Leadership Changes

U.S. Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia in the waning hours of the Trump administration appointed five new members to and rearranged leadership positions on a federal panel tasked with advising the agency on employee benefits issues.

The nine-member Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans advises the labor secretary and submits recommendations regarding the secretary’s functions under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, the principle law governing voluntary private-sector health and retirement plans.
