Envoy Air Defeats Black Agent’s Retaliation, Harassment Lawsuit

A Black airline agent failed to show Envoy Air Inc. fired her because she complained about race-based harassment by co-workers, not for abusing her employee travel privileges, the Seventh Circuit ruled Friday.

An investigation found Ciara Vesey used her employee access to volunteer for travel vouchers in exchange for agreeing to take a flight later than the one she booked, the court said. She collected a $500 voucher on one occasion and then canceled the later flight, which she never intended to take, the court said.
