Envoy Air Accused of Harassment, Retaliation by Former Employee

Envoy Air lashed out at a black employee who reported a racial epithet by concocting a reason to fire her, says a complaint filed Feb. 12.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of an unrelated $9.8 million settlement that Envoy and its parent company, American Airlines, agreed in Nov. 2017 to pay in a disability discrimination case brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The EEOC had accused the airlines of a pattern of discrimination against sick and injured workers by refusing to accommodate their conditions.
