Enterprise Rental Unable to Shake Class Suit Over Covid Layoffs

Enterprise Holdings Inc. must continue to face a class lawsuit alleging it and two Florida rental car subsidiaries provided workers with insufficient advance warning that they would be laid off because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Middle District of Florida ruled.

Limited discovery is needed to determine whether the company, which is also the corporate parent of Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Alamo Rent a Car, had an employment relationship with the Orlando and Tampa airport workers who filed the suit under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the court said.
