Employers Urge OSHA to Expand Voluntary Compliance Aid

Mentoring subcontractors, reducing application backlogs, and expanding the role of employers’ in-house safety experts are among the ways OSHA’s voluntary safety program can reach more workers, agency officials are being told.

With Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta promising that agencies will place more emphasis on advising employers, updating the 35-year-old Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is a priority for the Trump administration’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
