EEOC Settlement Haul Doubles at 2020 Mid-Point, Suits Also Up

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has collected $44.7 million from workplace discrimination settlements in the first half of fiscal year 2020, more than doubling last year’s mid-point haul.

It’s the agency’s second straight year of rising settlement recoveries at the halfway point—which also saw 30 new merits lawsuits from Oct. 1 to March 31, up from 24 in the same time period between 2018 and 2019.
