EEOC Gives More Time to Comment on ‘Official Time’ Policy (1)

The public has two more months to weigh in on an EEOC proposal that would limit how much “official time” union representatives for government employees can spend on workplace complaints.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission proposed the rule at the end of last year, and it received a “high level of interest,” according to the Federal Register notice Friday. More than 1,800 comments were posted about the proposed rule, the agency said. As a result, the EEOC will reopen to the public the comment period for an additional 60 days, so stakeholders have “ample opportunity” to make their thoughts known....
