DST Systems Owes Another $7.3 Million in 401(k) Arbitrations

The money DST Systems Inc. must pay employees who filed individual arbitration actions challenging their 401(k) plan climbed by more than $7.3 million when a Missouri federal judge confirmed 38 additional arbitration awards favoring DST workers.

Judge Nanette K. Laughrey of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri on Wednesday confirmed 38 awards ranging between $1,252 and $416,644. She also ordered DST to pay more than $5.5 million in legal fees and costs, for a total award of more than $7.3 million.
