Drew Peterson’s Loss of Police Pension for Ex-Wife Murder Upheld

Drew Peterson lost his appeal challenging the termination of his police officer pension based on his conviction for the 2004 murder of his third wife, when an Illinois appellate court concluded that he used specialized police knowledge to avoid prosecution.

It was reasonable for the Bolingbrook, Ill., police pension fund to terminate Peterson’s benefits under an Illinois statute covering officers convicted of felonies related to their official service, the Appellate Court of Illinois, Third District ruled Thursday.
