Dress Codes Central in High Court Gender Identity Debate

Company dress codes and bathroom policies often come up in the debate over whether gender identity should be protected under federal civil rights laws. The U.S. Supreme Court is due to hear argument in such a case next month. The Michigan funeral home at the center of it says Aimee Stephens violated its uniform policy when she said she would begin dressing as a woman after wearing men’s attire during her first six years as funeral director.
