Diamond Resorts Wage and Hour Class Settlement Withstands Appeal

Diamond Resorts workers who felt their wage-and-hour claims were worth millions more than a class settlement lost their bid to invalidate that deal when a California appeals court ruled it was both fair and reasonable.

A class of resort workers led by Ward Johnson sued Diamond in 2017, alleging the company failed to pay required wages, to provide meal and rest periods, and to reimburse for work-related expenses. The company sells memberships in timeshare vacation properties.
