Democrats Introduce Workplace Harassment Proposal

The #MeToo era has toppled Hollywood giants like Harvey Weinstein, but ordinary workers in the hospitality, janitorial, and restaurant industries continue to face harassment and assault daily, Sen. Patty Murray said April 9.

Murray’s solution is the far–reaching Bringing an End to Harassment by Enhancing Accountability and Rejecting Discrimination (BE HEARD) in the Workplace Act, which aims to attack workplace harassment through several angles. The bill was introduced April 9. Along with Murray (D-Wash.), Rep. Katherine Clark and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, both Massachusetts Democrats, have co-sponsored a House version of the bill.
