Democrat Says EPA Protection Lacking in Chemical Oversight (2)

The EPA is squandering Congress’ effort to protect Americans by giving the agency more tools to oversee and regulate chemicals of concern, Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.) said March 13.

Congress required the Environmental Protection Agency to consider people who could be particularly exposed or susceptible to chemicals when it amended the Toxic Substances Control Act in 2016, Tonko said during a March 13 hearing called Mismanaging Chemical Risks: EPA’s Failure to Protect Workers.
