Delaware Casino HR Worker Must Arbitrate Race, Sex Bias Claims

A Black male employee relations specialist who says Dover Downs Inc. passed him over for promotion to human resources director based on his race and sex must take his job discrimination claims against the gaming company to arbitration, the District of Delaware ruled.

Frank Taylor signed an agreement obligating him to arbitrate most employment-related disputes, including race and sex bias allegations, when he was hired by the casino in 2015, the court said. That the ownership of Dover Downs’ parent company subsequently changed hands didn’t negate the force of that agreement, it said.
