Cuomo Releases Draft Policies for New York Sexual Harassment Law

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) released a package of proposed standards to carry out a sexual harassment law adopted in April, including drafts of model policies for employers and state contractors.

The package, announced Aug. 23, also lays out proposed minimum standards, training requirements, and other compliance materials for the new state law. All employers in the state must adopt a sexual harassment policy meeting the standards by Oct. 9. State contractors, which include nearly every large U.S. company, must affirm their compliance by Jan. 1.
