A heterosexual human resources employee’s claims that she was fired for posting her opposition to male-to-female transgender individuals using women’s restrooms on Facebook will be heard by a federal appeals court Jan. 9.
Bonnie O’Daniel says her discharge by Industrial Services Solutions and Plant-N-Power Services Inc. violated her right to freedom of expression under the Louisiana Constitution. Her firing also violated Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s prohibitions against sexual orientation-based discrimination and retaliation for complaining about sexual orientation bias, O’Daniel alleges.
