Court Dismisses Suit Over Green Card Seekers’ Work Permits (1)

A federal district court judge dismissed a lawsuit over delayed work permits for green card applicants after finding that their claims were moot.

Plaintiffs, including nearly 100 applicants for lawful permanent resident status, sued US Citizenship and Immigration Services in the US District Court for the District of Columbia last year over wait times for work authorization documents stretching past six months. By February, the agency had adjudicated all plaintiffs’ applications.
