Comcast Settles Claims of Underpaying Black, Hispanic Workers

Comcast Corp. will pay more than $274,000 in back pay and $78,670 in salary adjustments for 45 Black and Hispanic workers who the Labor Department alleges were underpaid.

The Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs said it detected “statistical significance” in compensation for Black and Hispanic employees across a variety of job functions, according to the settlement document dated Sept. 30 and made public Wednesday.

The workers allegedly were underpaid at least as of July 2018, at Comcast’s corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.
