Chicago School Board Defeats Ex-Worker’s Bias, Retaliation Suit

A Black former Chicago Public Schools employee failed to show she was denied rehire for a number of positions because of her race or age or in retaliation for a previously settled bias suit, the Seventh Circuit ruled.

Mildred Chatman was in her late 50s to early 60s when she sought reemployment with Chicago’s Board of Education, and her job applications were made pursuant to the settlement, the court said.
