The Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board properly dismissed a chemistry professor’s complaint alleging the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University violated the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act. The professor, who had been terminated from the university and then reinstated to his former position through arbitration proceedings, wasn’t assigned the same office and laboratory space he had used before, as requested. The professor contends the university interfered with his rights under the IELRA when it failed to respond to his request for an “informal grievance.” The evidence doesn’t show that SIU indicated it would completely refuse to process his grievance,...
