Case: Discrimination/Race Discrimination (M.D. Ga.)

The Medical Center Inc. is entitled to summary judgment on a Black clinical equipment technician’s claims for race discrimination and retaliation in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act alleging he wasn’t selected for promotions and was terminated after making discrimination complaints, a Georgia federal district court ruled. The court found that his discrimination and harassment complaints and his termination that occurred four months later weren’t sufficient to establish a retaliation claim. The technician failed to identify any similarly situated White employees who were disciplined for work-related mistakes, the court stated.
