A federal district court granted summary judgment to Paxton Media Group, LLC on the claims of a Black, independent contractor alleging race discrimination in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981 and the Arkansas Civil Rights Act after her pay decreased because of an alleged system glitch. She couldn’t prove how many newspaper distributors had pay decreases, how the glitch decreased the pay of two similarly situated White distributors and by how much, and whether they were treated more favorably than her by receiving pay corrections, the court noted.
