A former California sales representative for Hip Hop Beverage Corp. who was awarded about $72,000 in compensatory damages and $750,000 in punitive damages for his discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour claims under California state law by a jury had the punitive damages award stricken by an appeals court after it determined he hadn’t sufficiently proven his former employer’s financial condition.
