Case: Discrimination/Hostile Work Environment (N.D. Miss.)

A Mississippi federal district court denied JA-Co. Foods Inc.’s motion for summary judgment on hostile work environment and retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of a terminated female cook who alleged that she was sexually harassed by her male manager and retaliated against after complaining about the harassment. The court found that the manager’s frequency of inappropriate comments in a six-week timespan coupled with the severity of his unwelcomed physical contact with the cook was sufficient evidence to allow her to proceed with her Title VII hostile work environment claim.
