A female dispatcher for the sheriff’s office in Kerr County, Texas may proceed with her claim that the county fired her because of her sex, instead of for misconduct and violating the truthfulness and extramarital affairs policies. Questions remain, such as whether or not she and her husband—a corrections officer for the county who wasn’t disciplined or fired for allegedly also having an extramarital affair—were treated differently by the investigating sheriff for engaging in nearly identical misconduct. The case is Beverly Hill v. Kerr County, 2020 BL 10970, W.D. Tex., No. SA-18-CV-897-XR, 1/13/20.
