The Eleventh Circuit ruled that a former United Parcel Service Inc. delivery driver failed to show that the the company’s stated reason for firing him—lying about a botched delivery that caused the loss of $10,000 worth of medication in two packages that needed to be refrigerated— was a pretext for age bias, even though he was discharged two months before he would have been eligible for an increase in his pension payments.
