Case: Disability Discrimination/Retaliation (D. Mass.)

A federal district court in Massachusetts denied Woburn Public Schools’ motion to dismiss a special education teacher’s claims of disability discrimination and retaliation under the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She suffered from general anxiety disorder, and alleged that the school system issued formal discipline in response to her taking sick days and threatened her with disciplinary action when she left a meeting due to a medical episode related to her disorder. The court found that, though the allegations were “threadbare and vague”, they were still sufficient to survive dismissal.
