Cantor Fitzgerald VP Can Add to Harassment, Job Retaliation Suit

A former Cantor Fitzgerald Securities vice president can go forward with allegations she was fired after her boss propositioned her for sex and she rebuffed his advances, the Southern District of New York ruled.

Monique Maiurano’s quid pro quo harassment claims under federal and state law are lacking as currently pleaded, the court said. She fails to allege that director of client management Bradley Mass held the sort of power to fire her that’s needed to be a supervisor who can subject a worker to a tangible employment action, the court said.
