Black Philadelphia Officer Ties Firing to BLM Support, Bias Suit

Philadelphia subjected a Black police officer to a wave of bias and retaliation—including an undesirable transfer, bogus investigation, and false criminal charges—and ultimately terminated him for his social media posts supporting Black Lives Matter, a new federal lawsuit says.

Bryan Turner says the backlash, racial discrimination, and harassment he faced while a member of the Philadelphia Police Department was also spurred by his opposition to Fraternal Order of Police president John McNesby’s public statements.
