Biden Nominates Abruzzo for NLRB Top Lawyer After Firings (2)

President Joe Biden has nominated Jennifer Abruzzo, an attorney for the Communications Workers of America, to be general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board.

Her nomination follows Biden’s Inauguration Day firing of Peter Robb, former President Donald Trump’s appointee to the post, and the subsequent sacking of Robb’s replacement, Alice Stock.

Abruzzo’s selection sets up a partisan battle in the Senate, where Democrats will have the votes to confirm her if no one breaks ranks. Robb’s firing came well in advance of the end of his term, breaking with precedent and prompting sharp criticism from congressional Republicans. Employers ...
