Biden Immigration Enforcement Pick Drops Out After Delays (1)

The Biden administration’s nominee for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which hasn’t had a Senate-confirmed leader in five years, is withdrawing from consideration for the post.

Harris County, Texas, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced Monday that he would withdraw his name.

“I am grateful to President Biden for the honor of nominating me, and I wish this administration well as it strives to overcome the paralyzing political gridlock that threatens far more than our nation’s border,” he said on Twitter.
