Baseball Coach Denied University Job at Age 56 Lacks Bias Suit

A man passed over for Indiana University South Bend’s head baseball coach job at age 56 lacks evidence of age bias by the school’s athletic director and assistant athletic director, the Seventh Circuit ruled.

IUSB received 94 applications, including Joel Reinebold’s, the court said. It invited Reinebold and 10 others to an initial round of phone interviews, but Reinebold’s candidacy was derailed by the university’s view of his phone-interview performance, the court said.
