Atlanta Airport Workers Say Trucks Unsafe, Vermin-Filled

Holiday travelers at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport might be met with delays or no food on their flights, the Teamsters union is warning.

Workers for the world’s largest airplane caterer, Gate Gourmet, allege the company’s food delivery vehicles are unsafe and unsanitary and say they may refuse to operate them.

The company employs 1,600 workers at its Atlanta facility and primarily services the airport’s Delta Airlines flights.

A Gate Gourmet spokeswoman told Bloomberg Law that safety is a priority.

Delta spokeswoman Savannah Huddleston wrote in a statement that there aren’t any interruptions in operations.
