Amazon Hit With Driver’s Wage and Hour Class Suit

Amazon is skirting federal wage and hour laws by contracting out to third-party delivery service providers, a delivery driver claimed in a new lawsuit.

The driver, Fredrich Green, asked the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina to recognize his case as a class action.

The court referred the case to mediation on Dec. 19.

Amazon failed to pay its delivery associates for all the time they worked, including the overtime that’s needed to deliver hundreds of Amazon packages every day, Green claimed. Amazon avoided paying these associates by contracting the responsibility out to delivery service providers ...
