2 More California Counties Extend Virus-Related Sick Leave

The city of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County in California recently enacted measures to ensure the availability in 2021 of virus-related paid sick leave requirements that were available in 2020.

Santa Rosa: Employer-provided new coronavirus-related paid sick leave was temporarily reinstated for employees within the city’s limits under a new ordinance (2021-001) passed Feb. 2 by the city council. The ordinance is effective from Feb. 2 to March 31 and applies to employers within the city limits. Employers are to provide 80 hours of paid sick leave to full-time employees and a pro-rated amount to part-time employees.
