Walmart CEO to Chair Roundtable Calling for New Business Mindset

Walmart Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer Doug McMillon will chair a group of almost 200 CEOs that recently called on companies to consider society as much as shareholders.

McMillon is taking over the Business Roundtable’s chairmanship from JPMorgan Chase & Co. CEO Jamie Dimon for a two-year term starting in 2020. The roundtable made waves in August when it said corporate purpose should weigh stakeholders such as customers and employees, a departure from the decades-old shareholder-first mindset.
