Jack in the Box Franchisees Seek Board Seat Amid Sluggish Sales (1)

Franchisees of Jack in the Box Inc. are calling for a seat on the fast-food chain’s board of directors over concerns about weak sales.

The National Jack in the Box Franchisee Association, whose membership represents the vast majority of the company’s more than 2,200 restaurants, said in an Oct. 30 statement that it also wants a meeting with the board, an audit of the marketing fund that franchisees contribute to, and more involvement in decisions regarding resource cuts.

Representation on Jack in the Box’s board would help franchise owners protect their “vested interest” in the brand’s success, the statement said....
