Alaris Health, Owner Call CarePoint’s Hospital Sale Suit Doomed

The co-owner of three CarePoint Health hospitals in northern New Jersey says a lawsuit claiming he’s trying to become the facilities’ landlord to interfere with their planned sale has “no merit (or logic).”

“Without connecting any dots, or providing any factual support or documentary evidence, plaintiffs contend that this alleged conduct threatens the continued viability of the hospitals,” Avery Eisenreich says in a motion filed Thursday.

The case concerns acute care hospitals in New Jersey’s “Gateway Region”: Hoboken University Medical Center, Bayonne Medical Center, and Christ Hospital in Jersey City.
