HSBC General Counsel to Replace Legal Chief Headed for Libra (1)

HSBC Holdings plc has named a veteran member of its legal department to replace chief legal officer Stuart Levey once he departs this summer.

Levey, a former top Treasury Department official who has served as HSBC’s top in-house lawyer since 2012, was announced Wednesday as the new CEO of the Libra Association, a group proposing the creation of a new digital currency backed by Facebook Inc.
