The White House’s plan to allow commercial sales of Covid-19 vaccines is undermining its own message that the government needs more money to buy pandemic countermeasures.
The Biden administration last week asked Congress for nearly $27 billion in new funds for resources to slow the spread of Covid and monkeypox as part of legislation to extend funding for the government beyond Sept. 30. Most of that funding, $22.4 billion, would go to buying new Covid vaccines and tests.
