Southwest CEO Steps Up Support for Push to Preserve Airline Jobs

Southwest Airlines Co. Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly stepped up support for a bid to preserve industry jobs by securing a six-month extension in federal aid to cover payroll costs.

The carrier is “in lock step” with Airlines for America, the trade group for U.S. carriers, in backing the additional financial assistance sought by unions, Kelly said in a video to employees Friday.
