Florida Latest State Sued Over Halting Federal Jobless Aid (1)

Unemployed Floridians sued to challenge the governor’s decision halting the extra $300 in federal weekly jobless benefits, joining their peers in at least seven other states contesting the early cutoff of federal aid.

The lawsuit, filed Sunday in a state court in Broward County, Fla., seeks to force Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to resume paying the federal benefits.
