Biden’s New DOL Hiring Wave Adds Political Head to Legal Office

The Biden administration has added more than a dozen new political appointees to the U.S. Labor Department, including temporary legal and employment leaders and a permanent director for the Women’s Bureau.

Elena Goldstein, most recently the acting chief of the civil rights bureau in the New York Attorney General’s Office, will serve as deputy U.S. Solicitor of Labor, functioning as the interim political head of the department’s central legal office, according to an email sent to DOL employees Monday that was obtained by Bloomberg Law.
