Web.com Call Center Workers’ Hybrid FLSA, Class Wage Deal Nixed

Concerns over payment, notice, and claim procedures prevented an Arizona federal judge from approving a $500k settlement between Web.com Group Inc. and nearly 1,000 call center employees who sued under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage laws.

The proposed settlement would allocate $150,000 to attorneys’ fees and costs, $2,500 for each of the four class representatives, and $30,000 to the claims administrator, leaving about $310,000 for the class and collective members.
