Schiff Move Free Supplements Consumer Suit Gets Class Status

Reckitt Benckiser LLC must face a consumer class suit over “Schiff Move Free” glucosamine and chondroitin supplements that plaintiffs say are worthless.

Classwide issues regarding Reckitt Benckiser’s liability dominate over issues involving individual plaintiffs, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said in certifying a California class and a New York class.

The plaintiffs submitted evidence that Reckitt Benckiser’s marketing suggested Move Free would improve joint functioning, but scientific studies show the product’s ingredients don’t help joint health, the court said.
