Pret a Manger, Consumers Settle Individual Slack-Fill Suits

Pret a Manger and two individuals have settled consumer fraud suits alleging the fast-casual chain tricks consumers with non-see through packaging.

Yee Ting Lau and Jeff Alexander voluntarily dismissed their claims, according to filings entered Feb. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The duo alleged Pret a Manger wraps are packaged in a way that makes customers think they are getting more food than they really are because the wrap doesn’t take up the whole package.

They had sought to represent a nationwide class and a New York class.
