Pharmavite LLC agreed to provide $6.9 million in cash and products as well as change product labels to resolve a class suit alleging it deceptively marketed dozens of joint-relief supplements (Barrera v. Pharmavite LLC, C.D. Cal., No. 11-4153, motion for settlement 4/28/17).
The proposed nationwide class settlement covers 30 products containing glucosamine, according to the plaintiffs’ April 28 motion for preliminary settlement approval in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Lorean Barrera alleged Pharmavite falsely touted the supplements as arthritis treatments.
The court certified a California-only consumer class for money damages in 2014.
